Last night I attended the meet the candidate forum for Flowery Branch, you can read about it here and here, I was able to listen to what the candidate’s thoughts were on the direction of the city. There were a wide array of thoughts from each of them and then the similar one – night meetings, something I have been for since my first council meeting.
In the Gainesville Times article, it references a person who, drew “an objection from one audience member”, because Tara Richards was out of the country and had a spokesperson in her place, and that was former Mayor Bryan Puckette, who has was in the news several years ago pertaining to a bit of controversy.
There was also a question from the audience that asked is any of the candidates were elected, would they appoint any former mayors or council members to positions of authority and Stacy Carlson stated she did not know any former mayors or council members, but here is a document received from the Freedom of Information Act that shows where Bryan Puckette picked up the packet that Stacy Carlson turned it in, look at number 8.
And one last piece of information was that Otto Mutberg withdrew his name from the race and that ensures that Mike Miller is the next Post 4 City Council Member and I congratulate him.

Mr. Fetterman,
I do not understand your reasoning for personally attacking me in your blogs. Bryan Puckette and I are friends, yes. I have only known him briefly and by no means does he have any influence on myself or my decision making. Chris Bozeman, Otto Mutzberg, and I are all neighbors. After a phone call with Mr. Bozeman and upon learning that Mr. Puckette was ALREADY going to be at the city hall to pick up Mr. Bozeman & Mr. Mutzberg’s qualifying packet, I asked him to pick myself one up as well. It was left on my front doorstep and was only a matter of convenience seeing as how I was at the doctor’s office with a sick child at that current moment.
Now, when I was asked the question at the forum regarding previous council members and mayors, honestly, Mr. Puckette did not even cross my mind. I never knew him when he was mayor and Mr. Puckette has already made his wishes NOT to be a part of the city’s officials crystal clear. Mr. Puckette is merely an acquaintance to me. Have you yourself ever had an acquaintance Mr. Fetterman?
I do not feel you have justification, nor will you ever, because you have not a clue what you are talking about when it comes to myself, my outlook, my vision nor my CHARACTER. I am no “sock puppet” and I am very strong minded. So, in conclusion, I have decided that you are only merely another egotisitical political figure whom likes to hear himself talk. Good luck in your online bashing but the truth ALWAYS prevails. I grew up here and I love this city….that’s why I’m still here 12 years later… and maybe next time we meet you will have enough courage to shake my hand like a current sitting council member should have.
Best Wishes.
Stacy Carlson
Ms. Carlson,
I have always said if I have any information that is proved wrong, I will recant and apologize. Thus far I do not believe I have made any false statements, but if I have, please be specific and I will retract and apologize.
About the word “bashing”, that is a word that is used often to divert the readers away from the point because I expect disagreements with my philosophies, but I do not bash.
To comment on your answer about appointing any former mayors or council members to leadership positions, such as city manager, city clerk, or others, you said you did not know any former elected officials. As an elected official, you must be very careful on what you say at public forums that are on the record.
And lastly, I did shake your hand and I asked you if you knew who I was and you replied yes you did. Although we may disagree, I will always shake hands and talk to you or any citizen of our great city weather we are in agreement or not.
By the way, could you ask Mr. Puckette why he would not shake my hand when I approached him with my hand extended?
