Today my opponent, Mary Jones, sent out a mailer talking about a comment I made at a meet the candidates at the Spout Springs Library a couple of weeks ago and when someone from the audience asked me what was one of my biggest accomplishments were – I stated moving the council meeting meetings to the evenings.  Now she is chastising this and my question is why?  Is it because she voted twice, while we served on the council, to keep them during the day or was it because of her response that that was when all the employees were there?  Seems to me she is opposed to open government and does not want to allow people, especially working people, to come to the meetings.  You can read my post and see the proof where Mary Jones voted against clarity in government.

I stand by the council meetings be moved to the evenings as my biggest accomplishment because sometimes it is a little thing that has the greatest impact.  However, the fact that out budget has decreased by 5% over four years,  property taxes have never been raised, preventing unjustifiable and exuberant raises to given out, intersection repairs, some of the lowest water and sewer rates in the area, new businesses have been established in downtown as big accomplishments too.

As they say, any publicity is good publicity.
